The events on 21 January and 4 February marked the start of our ambitious engagement plan, which will run for the next five years up to the new hospital opening in 2026.
Over 100 members of the public turned up to each event to quiz our senior staff and project architects on designs for the new hospital welcome spaces. In lively and interactive sessions, you were given the opportunity to vote on what features you would like to see in the emerging designs.
“It is clear the new hospital team has done much work, the results of which are beginning to look rather impressive” Public event attendee
“Really great ideas and like the fact you are involving us” Public event attendee
Thank you for taking the time to take part. Your views have already started to influence the planning of this important aspect of the building, and we are keen that you have your say in the development of the new hospital as much as possible.
If you weren’t able to attend and you’d like to see what was said you can watch a recording of the session here.
What’s up next?
Keep your eyes peeled for more engagement activities over the coming months. We will be holding further surveys and polls and setting up more public events around key themes, including:
- New models of care and the patient journey
- Access including travel and arrival
- Technology and digital to enhance delivery
- Sustainability and going for carbon neutral
