Local students from Harlow College have shared their views on The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) new hospital design plans.
Harlow College have a supported studies department that is dedicated to learners with additional needs, as well as students with a wide range of other learning needs.
The students have had their say on some of the key design features for the new hospital including topics such as arriving and checking in, hospital facilities and wayfinding.
Michael Meredith, director of strategy and estates said: “We are so pleased to work with fantastic local students who have given us a great insight into what the new hospital design plans should incorporate. They bring a fresh perspective helping us create a modern and suitable environment for our local community and patients.
“We have had great feedback from the students so far and they are looking forward to being a part of our new hospital development.”
Arzum Tuzci, learning coordinator, supported studies & SEND at Harlow College said: “Our learners have developed a partnership with The Princess Alexandra Hospital to support accessibility improvements for those with learning and physical needs and help develop patient experiences. Our learners recognise that their views matter and they have the chance to make a difference in their local hospital.”
Holly, a supported studies student said: “I feel really happy that I can support the NHS and find the hospital and college partnership meetings helpful in giving us ideas about the new hospital plans.”
